I’m suddenly bigger, and I spotted stretch marks in the mirror! (My instant reaction: is there a cream to get rid of this?) And just last week, I discovered that what I thought was gas, was actually my baby moving and kicking! Very exciting and very uncomfortable.
Apparently, my baby is 13 and 1/2 inches now. How in the world is it curling up inside, plus, it’s gonna get bigger. Get ready Joy, for the stretch. It doesn’t feel good always, but it is necessary if the blessing has to come forth!
“Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs. “For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations and will resettle the desolate cities.” (Is 54:2-3)
Every transition to a new season, requires a stretch. The stretch comes first, and then the blessing. Enlarge the place of your tent and stretch out – why? So you can accommodate the blessing!
The stretch begins in the mind
In the kingdom, you can never inherit your blessing if you don’t renew your mind -and that’s where the stretch comes first – in your thinking. The moment you say yes, with your heart, to what God says about your situation, you release the blessing from the spirit realm to your physical realm. God is NOT withholding any blessing. He released every blessing to us in spirit realm through Jesus Christ (Eph 1:3). His divine power has already given us ALL things pertaining to life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3)
It is the stretch that makes room for the blessing or miracle to manifest.
I was almost against having children in the first two years of my marriage. Based on what couples shared, I believed that children rob the bliss and joy of marriage. Just few months before I got pregnant, God rebuked this thinking that doesn’t line up with what He says about children – they are a gift and a heritage; a gift from God is always good! So I began the stretch: the moment I made that switch in my thinking, I opened myself up for the blessing. Few months later, I was pregnant, without planning!
Beloved, are you believing for something impossible, a miracle perhaps, or are you in transition, waiting to step into your next season ? God cannot put new wine into an old wineskin, which will burst when the wine ferments.
New season = new thinking and new living
It starts with the mind and then gets right into your lifestyle. If you want to step into the new, then get ready for some discomfort – a change in your lifestyle, a new way of doing things, a change in place, new people, new connections, etc.
Don’t get overwhelmed by change – open your mind to it, and watch how God opens doors and opportunities for you! Feel like you’re waiting on God? God is the one waiting on you to stretch, so He can pour out the blessing!
The stretch brings discomfort, but it also brings in the kicks – the movement – you begin to see things moving for you, in your direction and favor!
“Success is due to our stretching to the challenges of life. Failure comes when we shrink from them.” – John Maxwell
