A good investor is always looking for the best option to invest in, against the risk involved. People often put all their life savings into good investments, to obtain a great return.
Here’s a man, I would liken to an investor, who finds hidden treasure! He is all-knowing, as smart as can be, one who can never make the wrong choice.
Mat 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Mat 13:45-46: “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
The Kingdom of God is always about the King. King Jesus. The Holy Spirit revealed a totally different perspective in this parable that I’ve read so many times.
Here’s this Man, this investor, who finds treasure. He hides it, so no one can find it and steal it. And ‘for joy’ he sells all he has. Why? Because he found treasure of great worth, worth giving up his all.
God looks at you and thinks – WOW, what a great treasure. I will give up everything I have, my only begotten Son, so I can redeem (buy back) this treasure. So Jesus, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross. (Heb 12:2)
Why? Just so He can be with you forever, and nothing can come between you and him, not even sin. His joy was to be with you. So He sent Jesus to deal with the issue of sin forever, so he can have an intimate relationship with you.
And when he found you, he found you worth investing His all in you.
You are also God’s most risk-iest investment because he gave you a freewill – to choose or reject Him. And He will accept whatever decision you make.
When a man finds treasure, we know the worth of the treasure by his willingness to risk and sell his all just to own the treasure. And Jesus did that – gave up His all, to find you and keep you.
The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being. (Mat 6:21, MSG) We better know this verse as:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
If His treasure is you, then His heart is fixed on you – there does his heart belong.
You are the place God most wants to be.
Selah … (pause and think)
His greatest return on this investment? Just the pleasure of being with you.
Remind yourself, every day: I am His own special treasure. He gave up his all for me! His heart is fixed on me!
The Lord has declared today that you are his people, his own special treasure – Deut 26:18
Next: He invested not just little, but all of his inheritance in you!
